Since the hospital is a charitable one and the services
are rendered mostly free and the charges are grossly subsidized,
the Hospital needs funds from donors to maintain and upgrade
its services. Globe Eye Foundation is reaching out to the
People, Institutions and Government for donations. Donation
made to GEF is exempted from tax under Section 80 G. T present,
the hospital needs support in the following areas:
1. Mini Bus (30 capacity) – This will be needed to
transport the patients from the campsite to the hospital and
back. It will be of immense help when the number of daily
operations starts going up.
2. Green Laser – Essential equipment for treatment
of diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. It will help to expand
our services to treat other blinding diseases, in addition
to cataract.
3. Operating Microscope with Camera attachment – Very
essential for all eye microsurgeries. There will be need for
more microscopes as the numbers of operations go up. Camera
attachment helps for the teaching.
4. Support for Free Cataract Operations – A donation
of Rs.600/- will enable the hospital to operate one cataract
blind patient free of cost. Even a donation as small as this
goes a long way in alleviating the problem of blindness in
our community.
5. Automated Field Analyzer – The equipment is used
for the assessment of visual fields for those who have problems
in the visual pathway. It is an essential tool for Glaucoma
management.
6. Yag Laser – This laser is used for Capsulotomy in
patients who develop posterior capsular opacity after cataract
surgery. It is also used in the treatment of Glaucoma.
