Mega Free Eye Screening Camp for the Govt and Aided school students of Tumkur Taluk in Collaboration with Rotary Tumkur East, Rotary Bangalore Indiranagar RI 3190 and Globe Eye Foundation, Hoskote on 16th ,17th , 30th and 31st Dec 2019 a total of 110 schools covered 18099 students screened and 821 students have refraction error and 1 student has cataract all have been referred to Netradeep eye hospital Tumkur a branch of Globe Eye Foundation, Hoskote.
Learning Manual Small Incision Cataract Surgery ( SICS) from the Master Dr Sundar Ram Shetty part 2- complications and management.
On the Sunday 5th of Jan 2020, we conducted a PG update on Complications and management of Manual SICS. Our Chairman of Globe eye foundation D Sundar Ram Shetty, who is an authority on Manual SICS surgery was the Bandmaster of the event. He involved the postgraduates totally into the program explaining the intricate steps of surgery and giving tips to avoid complications through videos of surgery. From instrument handling to managing the complications at each step of surgery Dr Sundar Ram Shetty gave his experience pearls to the upcoming surgeons. His unique style of approach and making complex techniques of surgery simpler helped all of the audience to understand better the knowledge of SICS. Ultimately it enabled us to know where we were wrong, where we can go wrong and how to handle deviations confidently in Manual SICS.
Alumni of Globe Eye Foundation (GEF) organized a two day Continued Medical Education (CME) program, ‘Current Ophthalmic Practice- An Update’ at the Bangalore Medical College Alumni Auditorium, Bangalore on 16th and 17th March 2019. The event was well attended by the ophthalmic fraternity.
The CME will be an annual event funded by C P Bothra Trust, whose valuable contribution has enabled the Globe Eye Foundation to set up the C P Bothra Institute of Community Ophthalmology in the Globe Eye Hospital , Hosakote.
It has been the desire of Mr. Bothra's, Chairman, CP Bothra Trust, to contribute towards research and development in the field of Glaucoma, to help the community.

The highlight of the CME program was the C.P. BOTHRA GOLD MEDAL ORATION ON GLAUCOMA by Dr. Gowri J Murthy on 16th March 2019.
Along with the oration, a study grant of Rs. 100,000/-, instituted by the C P Bothra Trust, to fund a selected project in the field of glaucoma, was also announced.
Dr. Gowri J Murthy was the proud first recipient of the study grant that evening.
